It looks like you have it on correctly. The o ring doesn’t keep it from moving entirely but it creates enough friction that keeps it from spinning around and tangling up. You might try putting your strap on there to see if it pushes on the oring enough to help create friction. If not it’s just more experimenting to find the right o ring to make it work

The strap didn't make any difference BUT I went back to ACE and found that the #1 O ring (pictured below - 21/32" OD x 13/32" ID) did the trick. You are right that it doesn't stop movement completely, but it's enough to work. One other note - at least with this O ring - it's easier to snap on the Swaro loop replacement attachment and also thread your strap - then pass the strap through the O ring than to put the O ring on the replacement attachment and then try to run the strap through. FWIW/YMMV.
