I just sent my binos off to have the stud installed, looking forward to getting them back but was kind of shocked that it takes so long due to them only taking binos to the shop on Thursday and also the shop only returns finished installs the following Thursday.

Hope it is worth it, kind of has me nervous. How many of you have done this and has anyone every had any problems or issues? That little voice keeps telling me they'll be fine but everytime I have talked to Outdoorsmans they seem very unorganized.

You are fine, they will take good care of you. I sent my 12's in as soon as I bought them, no issue and they were back sooner than expected

I had mine done. No issues (other than turnaround time), and their mounting system is fantastic - well worth the weight (pun intended)!

Regards,
Scott

Mine are there right now as well. Tracker says they arrived on Tuesday. So, by your account, they should be at the machinists place as of Thursday. Guessing that means I get them back in about 10-14 days.

As far as I know they are the only certified installer that will not void your warranty.

As far as the warranty, I asked Swaro about this specifically and they said Outdoorsmans is the only one authorized to do this.

I just got my EL Ranges back from them and it took 3 weeks turn around including shipping both ways. Happy with the install and looking forward to sitting behind these for hours. Their customer service does seem to be lacking after talking with them a couple times - they almost act like they are doing me a favor and not a customer.

That is exactly the feel I got from them!

If it makes you feel better the stud fits like it grew there. My only minor complaint is I wish they anodized the adapter black instead of leaving it silver. Not a huge deal just think it would look better.

Really it is silver? Their website has all the adapter black.

That doesn't look too bad, I'll call them and see if I can get it in black.

Can't get it in black, it is a precisely machined stainless component.

I guess I'm the minority here but I sent them a brand new pair of EL Ranges to have the stud installed last Fall. Got them back three weeks later and open up the box as excited as a little kid on Christmas morning to find that the binoculars are cracked completely where the hinge meets the body and there was no damage to the box what so ever. Called them immediately and took pictures and emailed them as requested. They had me send them back to them UPS next day with full insurance to inspect them and said I would be reimbursed these charges. No phone call or email from them throughout the entire run around of trying to get a new pair from them. I was told it would take a while to settle the claim from UPS but they said they would send me a demo pair to use on an upcoming hunt. A week went by and no email or phone call and no binos, so i called them asking what's going on and was informed they just shipped them, not what I wanted to hear a week before I head out on an Elk hunt out west. A few more weeks went by and no contact from them so I call again to get an update and was informed that they "took a big hit" with the UPS claim and that I could keep the demos as a replacement unit. The demos they sent me were in very good shape but Not what I was expecting to hear after shipping them a brand new set of binos that set me back over 3k. I was sick with dealing with them and their arrogant attitude and lack of communication and said I would keep them but still needed to be refunded the UPS next day shipping/insurance that I was owed and they said they would credit my cc that day. It took another month and two more phone calls to get a refund sent to me. I am the last person to try and give a company a bad review but I understand that mistakes can happen but it's how you deal with the issues that sets your customer service apart from others in the industry, or in this case the lack there of. This entire issue occurred in late August or early Sept and finally was refunded my shipping charges after SHOT show.

Wow Brado! That sucks! And now I have a stomach ache since my brand new ELs are in their hands. Sorry you had to go through all of that. Hoping they got their act together and no one else has to go through all of that.
