Swaro 12X42 EL Range

Outdoorsmans has some pairs to demo in their showroom here in AZ for anyone around here who wants to see them.
Good to know!

I wonder if they upgraded the RF at all over the previous El Range TA's?
I’d be curious of that as well. I don’t plan on making the switch. But I’m sure it would be a good bino for some people if it fits their hunting and shooting style

So instead of updating the ranging hardware and software they give us magnification we don’t want or need.

I’m on the verge of buying 10x42 EL Range Bino’s but I’d really like to see a generational upgrade for ranging first.

Man, the 12x EL RF has been on my wish list forever!

It is the single pair of binos I can carry for 80% of my hunts.

You running RF binos right now? If so what ones?

I would love to get my hands on this but will need some reviews. Tag!

My issue is, they suck at ranging compared to other units and they don’t have on-board ballistics.

If they made a reliable NL Pure 12x42 with a good laser and good on-board ballistics program I’d be right there with you! I’d love to be able to bring just a 12 power RF bino and maybe add a Swaro STC 17-40 depending on the target animal!

Yeah, the sucky laser is the one drawback for sure. I have been spoiled with the Sigs and Fury. The glass and one bino solution has me tempted…

I would pay through the nose for a NL Pure with a solid rangefinder. I don’t understand why Swaro can’t put a better rangefinder in it.

Having one bino would make it easy for me to justify the weight of the 554 Kowa. Those two would weigh about what I pack with rangefinder and 15s.

The TAs have onboard ballistics. If your rangefinder isn't good past 500 yds you should send it in.
Ballistics are not up to snuff for what I expect. I like the BT option for Kestrel and Garmin and extended rangefinder with smaller laser size.

I will have to check them out. Maybe having all in one is enough for me to accept the trade off. It’s the flip side of having great rangefinding but lesser quality glass with my sigs.

But, I will wait till a pair or two hits the used market so I can sell them if I can’t stand them.

Big fan of my Zeiss RF, but that 12x would be sweeeeeet. Doubt I'll touch it until they update the rangefinder though

12x42s that aren’t NLs concern me. For me at least, even the NLs produce minor blackouts if eye placement isn’t perfect. I didn’t have these in the 12x50ELs.

I’d be highly suspect of those for some folks in the EL12x42 format they are discussing.

The current version of Range TA has the NL glass from what Swarovski rep said, but the mirrors are not the same as the NL.
