SW Colorado Unit 71, 72, 73, 711 plus park drawing success!

Going on my first elk hunt this year. Have a buddy that hunts the area every year and we both drew the same unit. I put in for a park drawing as well and got notification yesterday that I drew that tag also! I am really excited to go and spend some time out there chasing elk. Have a lot to learn as a flat lander coming from Kansas but can’t wait to get out there and experience it all. Open to any tips, tricks and advice y’all may have for a newbie and wish you all success this fall! God is good.

It is steep but there are some nice herds there!

Get a bear tag, population has been high for the last several years. I saw one bear and lots of sign this spring while turkey hunting.
