SUV Tire Recommendation

The wife drives a 2018 Ford Expedition. It is going to need new tires in the next couple months. Does anyone have a recommendation for a concrete only tire? 275/65/18 is the size for any tire gurus.

I normally would not vote for K02 tires, but have some on a 2018 4runner that is largely highway driven. 10 ply version. They are at around 38,000 miles now and still have over half wear left. Plus in Iowa they'd do great in any random snows.

Big fan of Coopers too though.

I'll cast another vote for the Falken Wildpeak AT3s. I have Wrangler TrailRunner ATs on another vehicle and will replace them with the Falkens when the time comes.

I have KO2s on my 2018 4Runner, but I have the C-rated version. I have over 70K miles on mine at the moment.

I’ve used these on my 3/4 ton diesel truck for years and have loved them. They do well offroad, as well. I’m probably gonna go with these for my 4Runner, if these KO2s will ever wear out.

I have wildpeaks on my f150 and have about 50k miles on them and they still have roughly 35-40% tread left. Great tires for sure but I think would be overkill for the pavement princess the expedition is. Looking at more comfort road tires.

It's interesting that Ford put 32" tires on back in 2018. My wife has a 2020. It had and has 31". Nonetheless, we did Cooper Discover SRX, and they have been great.

I currently have the Geolandar A/T GO15 on my 2013 Rav and they have done great in the mountains, through snow and on clean pavement. Not noticeably loud at higher speeds either.

I have had great experience with Hankooks, several different sets, from truck to SUV to sports car. They handle great in the snow and ice, are quiet, and not harsh on rough roads. But, they have those attributes because they are a softer compound, and therefore they do wear out quicker than other brands. So look at the tread life on the tires and factor in cost/mile when you compare. That said, I have had some hockey puck tires, said to be 80,000 mile tires, that I had to replace after 45,000 miles because I could not stand them.

Just had Bridgestone TA Advantages put on my wife's Honda Pilot. 100% asphalt usage, but they are "mud and snow rated" if that matters to you. They are not off-road tires. Got em for $900 at Costco for the set, happy with them so far and 65000 mile warranty (plus lifetime rotate/balance through Costco.)

Yes, and it came with 255/65R18.
I believe Ford made some other changes between those two years. I think the gas cap is on the passenger side for '18? It's on the driver's for the '20. I'm sure there are other things different even though the bodies are the same style.

Another vote for the BF Goodrich All Terrain TA KO's. Been running them for many years and have never had a hiccup. And, I put them in some nasty sharp-rock under tension situations. Higher rated ply tires are my preference and you'll benefit from that strategy with the Expedition because of its weight.

Our gas cap is on the drivers side.

Bridgestone dueler a/t rhs, have had 3 sets on a Grand Cherokee, excellent road tire and better off road than they look. Tons of gravel road and trail miles on them without an issue, zero flats even on the nasty rocky New Mexico "forest" and deseert roads.

Lot's of cross country trips as well.
