Suppressors that disappointed you and why?

YHM R9, works good on a pistol but not so much on a 308 bolt gun. Not very quiet and groupings all over the place.
Interesting. I've never tried my R9 on anything bigger than a 350 Legend.

I originally bought my R9 for a threaded 9mm pistol and shorty AR9, but I liked the idea of extra versatility to run it on some of my mild-mannered rifles (300 Blk, 300 Ham'r, 350L). When I finally got the R9 out of jail (9 month wait, at the time), I was really impressed at how well it did on the rifles. So, I ordered another one. My plan was to keep one R9 setup with the pistol booster, and the other with a QD adapter for my rifles. For the last couple years, though, they both wear QD adapters and get used on the rifles and AR9. I don't remember the last time I shot my 9mm pistol, suppressor or otherwise.

If I was disappointed with any of my suppressors, it probably would be the Rugged Obsidian 45. I wanted the YHM R45, but I couldn't find one in stock anywhere. I wanted to suppress my 450 Bushmaster for an upcoming pig hunt, and time was running short, so I bought the Obsidian 45 instead. I don't remember if it was available at the time, but for a few bucks more, I could have bought the Dead Air Primal and had a much more versatile rifle suppressor than the Obsidian 45.

I don't think the Obsidian is a "bad" can, but it's not what I wanted. It's really long, so I run it in the short configuration on my Ruger American rifle when hunting. In the short configuration, it's noticeably louder (of course). I think the R45 would be quieter, at the same length, than the short-version of the Obsidian 45. And, the R45 will fit my current collection of YHM muzzle devices.

I should try my Obsidian 45 on my threaded pistols. The skinnier diameter wouldn't interfere with the sights like the fatter R9 does. I would probably like it better on a pistol than my 450 BM rifle. I'm not really using it the way it was intended, and that's on me.

Silencerco harvester Evo. It's better than nothing but it's loud. Impulse bought it without any research. I bought a Thunderbeast ultra 7 the same day and I love that. Just didn't want to spend that much on a second can for my kid.

It's going to go for my 223 trainer.
