As stated I’m having a 22” 300 rum built. I’ve got a nomad tixc I run on my 28 nosler a lot. I may get one for the rum but with it being the max it’s rated for I wanted to consult for recommendations. Should I step up to something rated for 338? Or ok with the nomad

I am not familiar with the Nomad tixc to comment on that particular suppressor, however, the Banish Backcountry is rated for 300 RUM and is what I have used. I’ve used mine on my 300 RUM shooting hot loads and have had no issues.

When I bought mine the size and weight penalty associated with 338 rated suppressors made them a less attractive option for me.

LTI XC with E brake makes a 22” rum a kitten. Mines 11 pounds kitted out, scope, bi pod etc… Carries/balances well in my configuration. I run 245 eol’s out of mine. The ti xc i run on a 20”.308 win, the ti xc wasn’t enough on the rum imop. I use E brakes on both.

I would not worry about it being the “max it is rated for.” It is the largest .308 bore cartridge any .30 caliber can is rated for. It’s not like they can rate a .30 caliber can for .338 or .375 or .458. I’d use it with as much confidence as anything else. With that cartridge, I think you would want a 6-7” can rated for .300 RUM. The Nomad, Reaper, or TBAC UL 7 would all be good options. This spreadsheet might help you out a bit. It is largely based off the TBAC Suppressor Summit data.
