Hello everyone I am pretty new to suppressors last year I I got a 7prc and worked a load up before getting a suppressor for it well it’s finally came in and I went to the range before installing the suppressor I had a sd of 7 and a lower es well after shooting with a chrono my sd jumped up to 26 and es went up too although my groups were still under moa for those of you that have added a suppressor did you have to tweak your load and if you did would you go up .3 grains and down in .3 increments? I am sorry if this has been talked about before thank you for any info.

Throw some extra information out if you can - what suppressor, what length barrel, etc?

What size sample are you basing this off of?

You’re going to need to compare about 30 of whatever loads you just made, unsuppressed, to about 30 with the suppressor to get into a data point that might be reliable.

A suppressor may change your velocity a tiny bit, and can have an affect on accuracy or POI, but your SD and ES should otherwise remain similar. Assuming all else is similar. Sure, stranger things have happened, but I would be sure to double check my load and actually run a good size sample through before making a bunch of adjustments. Sample sizes to 3-5 rounds are…less than helpful in most cases.

Sounds good before I put the suppressor on it was a sample size of 40 rounds and after suppressor it was a sample size of 15 but I will shoot some more through it and see thank you.

If your " groups were still under moa" leave it alone. The only thing that matters is the target. If your bullet goes where you want it to, chrono numbers are just neat little notes in your log book.

Cans change the entire environment from pressure to harmonics. At the very least I have experienced poi shifts. That’s very common. It’s purely anecdotal but I usually have to drop charge weight unless the node is near starting.
