Suppressed Trajectory vs Non Suppressed

I got my 7 mag drops set out to 530 yards with my suppressor on. The drops should be the same without the suppressor, right? I realize I may need to make a POI adjustment by taking the suppressor off.

I'm not worried about the POI at 100 yds. I can solve for that. But I have my hash marks on my scope set for 200, 300, 400, 500 yds with can on.

My question is, will the 200, 300, 400, and 500 marks still be the same. Will the trajectory be the same with the can off?

I would chrono the gun with and without the suppressor. I typically don't see a velocity shift with my suppressor, but some do. If the velocity shifts, then your dope would change

Cans raise pressure, which raises velocity. As long as you re-zero at 100 yds, the velocity increase should not have a huge effect on POI at 500 yards, but check it. Out farther the error in velocity will grow with distance.

The pressure raise is most likely insignificant. There can be a POI shift from the can, weight, design etc etc. I see almost no POI shift from my Thunderbeast. Chronograph velocities remained relatively stable between suppressed and unsuppressed in my .300WM (I get variations with my CED but nothing crazy).

Broz is correct that little variations at close in equate to large variations far out.

Just my .02
