Anyone in Colorado... (front range/Denver) have an Alaskan in 44 or 454 that might be willing to meet me at a range so I could put some rounds through it? I could travel to meet you(or Ive got a membership at Triggertime in Longmont). Im in the market for a big bore handgun but have only shot the SRH 5.5" in 44.

Would love to see what a 2.5" barrel is like. With that short of a barrel I'd probably lean towards the 454 since the velocity would drop below 1000fps even with hot loads.

Let me know!

I have it in .454, I am headed out of town today for the last weekend of fall turkey but we can coordinate you shooting it for sure. I live in Lakewood.

If you can find one, try the .480 in the Alaskan as well. Bigger bullet (410 grains) and without the recoil of .454.

Can't figure out PMs on mobile site...but I've got a 4" (cutdown) SRH in .44mag I'm thinking of selling. More than happy to ship to your ffl if you're interested.
