Sun shades

Do you all run sun shades on your scopes? All the glass I've been buying is coming with sun shades and they are stacking up. Am I at a disadvantage if I don't use them?

I toss them in the trash, right outta the box..... never had the lack of one cost me an animal.....

I had one come with a scope and I tried it out. It made a difference with glare when looking towards the sun for sure, but it narrowed up the field of view. It was annoying so I pulled it off.

Now I just run the SWFA’s that have a more recessed objective lens. I get a little bit of shade, but it doesn’t cut off my FOV. Good happy medium.

I think mostly companies are providing them because marketing teams have told shooters they need one to be a sniper.

Really, I don’t think you’re missing anything for normal use.
