Summer Fun in Wyoming

Well done. Every time I hear a carpenter (or electrician or plumber) say, "Just do it yourself." I reflect on how many things I've done just that. None of its rocket science but experience AND the right tools are really helpful. Mentors (as reflected in another current thread) are critical to success. Sounds like you have those credentials in spades.

My father and grandfather taught me. Was always “look and learn” w saws, drills, lathes, plumbing, wiring, etc. Always involved, watching, holding, carrying, etc. *Too many folks fail to teach their kids the fundamentals from a young age. * Then too many folks have their kids too busy playing sports and games to learn life skills from dad or grandpa.

OP is doing/did what guys do. And did a real nice job.

Down here in FL the earth floor would produce condensation. Where I was up north it was not as big a deal - depends on soil type and soil moisture.
