Summer Desert NON camping trip! 😁

This looks awesome.

The wife wants to do something similar next year. I want to go hunting (any big game, really). We're trying to math out a critter where we can get two tags before winter hits and do both (hunt/sightsee) on the same trip. The wife wants to see the Four Corners area, maybe Zion/Monument Valley and maybe some stuff in CO or NM.
If you bowhunt, I'm pretty sure you can get OTC elk tags in Utah (I could be wrong, it's been a long time since I looked) A buddy of mine had hunted the high Uintahs a few times, OTC.

Zion is beautiful, but very small & crowded. Bryce Canyon & Red Canyon are 99% as spectacular, free & have a much better roads (Hwy 24 from I70 south to Torrey, then 12 southwest from Torrey to Panguich) They're some of the most beautiful roads I've ever ridden & the scenery is a constantly changing, endless jawdropper. From there, you're only another hour down to Zion.

I bowhunt and love it but the kids aren't there yet so most of my bowhunting happens within 300 yards of the house. We'll probably either try to do a cow elk hunt or whatever we can burn our mule deer/pronghorn points on.

I have some specific things I want to do, that are within our reach points-wise, in SD/WY, but the wife wants to see the UT/AZ/NM area and honestly so do I. I guess I could apply for that Valles Caldera elk tag. :D

I'm going to take what you said about Bryce and Red Canyons and tell the wife.

Traveling by motorcycle is the best. You travel slower and see a ton more than a car. Plus you get to smell everything, sometimes before you see it. Feeling the temperature change as you travel through valleys. Feeling the temperature change as clouds pass by the sun. Even people that ride dont know what they are missing if they dont take trips. Congrats on a great ride.

I've been toying with building a bobber... I love your bike.

Awesome trip!
Thanks man! There's not many things better than using something you've built yourself, no matter what it is!

You ain't kidding! The temperature changes on this trip were unreal. I have a short video I'll try to upload, riding out of a rocky valley in Arizona & hitting the open air in Nevada. The only way I can describe the sensation is that it was like being whacked with a red hot shovel! 😆 It went from 88⁰ to 102⁰ in the space of about 5 yards!

EDIT: Damn. File is too large 😡
