Sub $500 Auto Powder Throwers

Make one. I made this for about $80. Sent my scale off to Scott parker. No warmup time, turn on and let it eat. The gray one is the new one I made with bigger hopper. Holds a little over an entire 1l of powder. I have varget, 8208xbr, TAC, H1000, 4831sc and trailboss. Only one I haven't tried yet is TB for my subs in 308.

video is 49g of varget for one of my 308 loads.

I’d be interested in learning how to make one as well

Anyone had problems with LED lighting being near them (all brands)? I know years back I trashed mine by having it to close to a fluorescent light (bulb) did not realize it until it was to late (bulb had mini ballast in it).

Started over and under throwing. Called CS , They me ask a few questions. One was if it near any Fluorescent lighting and I told them about the bulb thing. I had it a few years, no warranty. They won't take it back for repair as they are made off shore. Not a big deal, I got moneys worth.

That is really weird, and (with four+ decades of electronics experience) I'm struggling to understand anything other than temporary interference that could be attributed to EMI.

Anybody have a bad experience with the Frankford Arsenal Intellidropper? Or should I stick with RCBS/Hornady
Have had surprisingly good results with the FA Intellidropper. I leave it turned on all the time.

Drops a 6 dasher charge in 20 seconds, never any over throws and I get 5-6 SDs on 10 shot strings🤷🏼‍♂️.

I’ve been trying to find an excuse to upgrade but so far I haven’t been able to convince myself I’d see any meaningful results for PRS shooting.

FA just put out the gen2 intellidropper and it looks pretty good-enough to me.

I'm never going to pay my bills by shooting so $1,700 to dispense powder will never even be a consideration.

I’m no expert, but it has been pretty widely known that fluorescent fixtures can and do affect at least RCBS scales, not sure about others

Understandable while they are in the EMI field, just confused as to how it would create permanent damage. Low budget SMPS designs (e.g. cheap ballasts) can put a crapton of current noise back on the line, but then you also need either a badly designed power supply or inadequate EMI shielding in the electronic device for that to affect things.

That is what they said they thought could have damaged one of the boards EMI. ?

Yeah if the minuscule amount of EMI coming from a single fluorescent bulb was enough to permanently damage the scale, then a handful of good thunderstorms would wipe out half the units in the country.
