Did you get wax on the shoulder? Or just not enough wax on the case? Or to much wax? I’ve had 1 case stuck and it was from not enough wax near the base.

I actually think that was just it. I must admit I’m kinda new to Imperial wax. I had used it on only maybe 40-50 cases prior so I was still kinda feeling out the right amount and application. If I had to guess, it’s exactly as you experienced, not enough down the full length of the case.

Read through this info for reviews and ideas about ways to get the stuck cases removed:

I have only had one stuck case, in a Redding 270 Win die. I did not use enough lube and it got stuck. I got the stuck case remover (I think the Lyman kit comes with the most parts) and it worked pretty much as advertised but I could not do it in the press, die was too tall to fit upside down in the RCBS single stage press. Used a vice instead. That experience taught me a lesson, and I now have duplicate die sets for every caliber I reload and three full sets for 270 Win. I was using Dillon case lube, and I was at the wee bottom of the bottle and probably should have just thrown that out and opened a new bottle, which I did after the case got stuck. I had my doubts about the stuck case remover; worried about the bolt just stripping the threads, etc, but it did work.

I sympathize with you, real depressing especially when a person is just starting to learn reloading. Learned to lube the case and it still happens occasionally.
