Im sure there are some soccer fans out around here, but i know there are even more patriots in this community. The USA mens soccer team will qualify for the World Cup in Qatar this summer barring catastrophic collapse in their last game against Costa Rica on wednesday. There is plenty of pride for the USA at these games and our guys play hard to represent our country. Next game is wednesday against costa rica. Its fun to cheer for the good old USA!

Also, congrats to our Canadian fans to the north. Canada has a great team and has qualified for their first world cup since the 80s.
 
Thanks to the shoot-out to us in the North. The Canadian sports world is BUZZIN after the men qualified.

Has Canada and US played lately? ;)

Its gotta feel good being a canada fan at the moment. Nothing better than getting one over on a rival. From a usa fan prospective, its going be really fun having a rivalry with both our northern and southern neighbors.
 
My household is a soccer house. Loved watching the womens team but can’t stand a lot of their woke players. We will be tuning in to watch the mens team for sure.
 
Not really a soccer fan in general, but do watch quite a bit during the World Cup. We happened to be in France in 1998 when the World Cup was being held and it was quite a scene.

Could be, but I was referring to an uninteresting backyard game in which competitors toss bean bags in the hope of getting them into a hole in an angled board (basketball-style) which inexplicably generated enough momentum to have its tournaments televised.

That is funny...my wife and both her sisters played soccer through college so I have a feeling my daughters will play. If it pays for college I'm all for it, but not sure what is worse Soccer, Baseball or catching your sack on a barbed wire fence.
 
USA qualifies for 2022 WC.

Unfortunately, i wasnt able to watch usa v costa rica so icant speak to how our boys played. Costa rica won the match 2-0 but usa still did what was necessary to advance. Final standings below. Usa, mexico, canada qualify for WC. Costa rica stll has a chance in a 1 game play off vs a team from different federation.
