String angle concern?

Hey guys I have a question. Is it critical to have a bow with a string angle that makes contact with both your nose and corner of mouth? I shoot a 33 inch ATA prime. Draw length is 28 inches. At full draw I can only feel the string on the corner of mouth not the nose. Should I switch to a longer ATA or is it not a huge deal?

My nose does not contact the string. My bows are 33-34 ata with a 30" draw.

If you can consistently draw and hit your personal anchor points exactly the same every time, then no it is not necessary. Consistency is a key to accuracy! Everybody's facial structure is different and not everyone will be able to use their nose on string as an anchor point.

I don't think I could shoot very accurately at all without the string on my nose. That's my number one contact point. And if I move it around on where it contacts my nose.......it also moves the arrows around, and it doesn't take much of a change to do that.

Op, sure more anchor points is better.....but when you think about it, the peep is one and the point you draw to is the other, thats enough.

Its pretty critical that you can draw your bow with your eyes closed to full draw and when you open your eyes the peep is perfectly centered.

I might try the bowmar nose button and see if that helps. Is it true that you want your eye as close to the peep as possible?

Like mentioned before if you have a consistent anchor point and aligning your peep with your sight housing ring (which makes a straight line) you should be fine. If you’re having trouble with your anchor point or need some reassurance I suggest a kisser button. A lot of kisser buttons these days are kind of junk and will rip off because of the rubber. Use a metal nocking point for a kisser. It’ll stay on better and won’t move as easily. Or you can use serving material and make a small little nocking point to the corner of your mouth. Also my string doesnt touch my nose.
