Stories of hunting partners that quit

Absolutely not! A real drug addict would make sure to have plenty ”supply“!
I know I guy that was abandoned in the Colorado mountain by a guy that was apparently feigning. I forget the entire story but it started the same way as some of these other posts….feeling homesick, restless, etc.
He ended up disappearing during a days hunt so the other guy eventually went back down to base camp where the truck was, and the truck was gone!!! He left him up there with no vehicle and went to town for a couple days. I don’t remember how he found him and his truck but he left him in town and continued hunting. The drug addict stayed in town, with the option of waiting or getting a different ride back to WI. I guy somehow managed to get someone to drive from WI to pick him up! Not kidding

Is there a "how to find a hunting partner" thread?

My wife's oma got me a hunting journal and in it there are spots for detailing your hunt, animals, notes and hunting partners.

During a recent, dissapointing late season elk hunt with thigh high, frozen shin bashing snow I began thinking of the animals I killed to back date the journal and realized my most consistent hunting partner since 2019 has been my wifes elderly Opa lol and there's nothing wrong with that. We were successful in 3 of 4 hunts and last year he turned 92 right after I shot a whitetail with him. Which not bad considering he lives in another province while my buddies that live in the same province as I do have no interest.
