I am a die hard fisherman here in Michigan and fish for everything. It’s been a while since I have caught a new freshwater species. I did a little fly fishing for greyling and mountain whitefish, but did more damage with my personal go to the trusty spinning rod. Apparently bull trout will hit a jig and plastic the same as walleye (albeit much harder). All the fishing was from shore and all were released. Bounced around a few lakes and streams targeting pike as well. Good times.
