Has anyone had any experience with the stone glacier x curve and Krux frame?

Not sure what you are after. I run the x curve frame and have no experience with the krux frame. It all depends on the shape of your back. If you are trying to decide between the two, there is a way to test your back shape. You can stand with your back against the wall. If you are able to put your fist between the wall and your lower back the xcurve might be best. I would always advise you to get both and test the fit and return the one that doesn't fit correctly.

I’ve had an xcurve since ~ 2017, it’s been used pretty hard. I tried the crux frame for a bit and I found the xcurve fit me better.

If you have any more specific questions I might be able to help but I havnt played around with that many backpacks. I got the SG to move on from Kifaru and now it’s been like 8 years using that pack. My only other frame is a Barney’s frame which I’ve never raised as a backpack, just a load hauler for moose and bears.

I tried both. Love their bags and the people behind the company. Just couldn’t get either frame to work for me. Tried extra foam, changing placement, different strap angles…. Really wish they had worked well. If it fits you, definitely a great system.

I have 5 seasons on my xcurve frame. Ive had no major complaints. I was curious about the krux frame though. So This summer i pulled the curved stays out and cut some 250 spine arrow shafts to make it like the krux. Carried out 2 whitetail so far and found i prefer the flat stays. With loaded up weight it feels like it sticks to my back better and I don't have to crank the belt down as tight.

I started out with an X-Curve, thought it fit me well, but then I tired a Crux and it was a great improvement. Bought a set of Krux stays for my training bag so it matches my hunt bag, and its been a huge positive for me.

New here, sorry late reply. I recently purchased the COL 4800 with the COl with the Krux frame. I would highly recommend, if you're still in the market, to go and try them on first. I went to my local retailer and loveed the X Curve initially. After I put weight in it and walked around the store I switched to the Krux. It made a huge difference trying it out with some weight on it. We are each built differently and it's difficult to say which one's going to be best for you.

It is really not hard at all. Xcurve is made for the 20% or so of people with more than average curvature in their back. Seems a lot of people jumped on using this frame without figuring that out. Post three nailed it, if you have enough curve this frame is for you. Otherwise the krux is the one you want. Do compare them with weight.

Maybe they jumped on it without understanding but keep in mind that x curve was out for a long time before the krux came out.

When I got my x curve the crux (or krux) wasn’t even a thing and didn’t come along for 3-4 years if I remember right.

At any rate, I do have a curve from doing lots of shoulder work and pull ups, the x curve sure seems to fit well. That being said when I upgrade I’ll probably get away from SG but my pack has a few years of life left in it.

My fit info is direct from the employee at Stone glacier headquarters in Bozeman who helped me figure out the difference in the two frames and then which one worked for me. Just trying to pass that info on. I learned this the hard way. My first pack was a Kifaru I bought in 2005. I looked in the mirror and thought I had a very curved back so filled that out on my order form. I hunted with that pack for years. When I discovered Rockslide things like torso length, load lifters, and how things were supposed to fit and work were some of the first things I learned. When I read a thread about bending the aluminum stays to fit my back. I pulled them and took at least 1/2'' out of the curve. That really improved the fit. So basically 26 years to get somewhat competent fitting a pack.

Not saying you’re wrong but 100% the xcurve was out a few years before the cruise showed up.

Back curve test. Put your butt against a wall touching lightly. Lean your shoulder blades against the wall at the same time. With your hand flat against the wall slide it into the small of your back (right above your butt). IF your arm goes in to the forearm/elbow region you have a very curved back. (xcurve). If your hand only slides in , your back is in the semi curved majority.(krux). Hope this helps someone, this is the info I needed before I bought my first pack.
