Just received a large belt in the mail from SG and was pleased to see they updated the belt pull setup to make releasing the belt easier. When did this update roll out? Awesome to see them continually taking feedback and improving on an already great product.

Have a medium frame on the way from Black Ovis and hoping it also has this setup. 🤞

Awesome. It’s the little things that make a big difference in my opinion. Not a deal breaker but the old belt release always annoyed me, especially under a heavy load.

great company, nicely done SG

Yeah, I just got an updated belt this week and was really happy to see that detail. You're right, the old way was completely fine but I never understood why they didn't do this from the get-go. Way easier to take off under load now

Spoke with them this morning and apparently they started sending these belts out at the beginning of the year. In true Stone Glacier fashion, they said if the medium shows up with the old pulls, to send it in and they'll trade it for the new style. Great company to deal with.

Its Awesome! I recently bought a 6900 and the first thing I like about it was the belt. Great ease of use. Didn't know I was missing this in my life! lol

What am I missing? it looks the same as the belt I've had since 2018.
The webbing doesn’t cinch at the buckle anymore, but at the side mounted forward pulls. So to release tension now you just pull on both of the pull tabs and they sort of hinge up and release. Same setup as on mystery ranch’s new MT frame.

My pack has that too, got it in 2018.

Interesting, I just spoke with 2 Stone Glacier employees and they both said they just started sending those out at the start of 2021. Maybe you got a prototype.

No idea, I just assumed they were all like that. Heck this frame might even be from 2017.

I remember asking for a duckbill on that tensioner back when this frame was coming out - good to see they did it. I honestly never have had an issue with the way it was, but that little tab will certainly make things easier.
