I’m trying to do some tweaking on my gear this upcoming year. I’m very interested in the stratum system helio base, de havilland pant, Grumman down and the m5 pant. Has anyone used this system yet? Does it work as well as it looks like it should?

Just a heads up, those helio bottoms are a fleece, more of a mid-layer. Depending on temps, probably best to wear a merino of your choosing as the base.

I was planning on wearing a FL wick merino under them I was trying to see how it worked or if it even worked

I normally hike in cold and change once I get where I’m going. If I move through the day I burn up. If this set up performs like they say it would be awesome for me

The system is very nice with all the zippers I picked up the m5 pant and ran it for two weeks in october very durable and as waterproof as you can be...in dense jungle vegetation.....the fleece bottoms I would put on as I reached elevation as you will burn up hiking in them.....the Dehavilands I picked up three weeks ago and am wearing daily on hikes....the dwr finish will shed water for a long time and then leak as expected in torrential rain....they are a solid pant that I will be wearing all winter as i love the zips for climbing and will be very durable...stone glacier has designed a good system and I would have bought the down pants but they were out...

Ross are the m5 pants a soft face fabric as advertised or much like any other rain pant

The vent system on the legs is a total game changer. We have been using the Stone Glacier system extensively and it has not disappointed.

Planning on ordering a helio hoody, Grumman pants and their down jacket.

I’ve got a pile of Kuiu but those pieces will fit in nicely.

I’ve just had my hands on them no real world experience yet. They seem as bomber as any sitka/kuiu/FL product

I would call it a softer face but not quiet there is a wrinkle swish sound when wearing, would say that is the only down side to them but for my use I want durability and dryness which they achieve...

If I’m hunting and it’s bad enough for that. I’ll take dry and warm over silent

I have the de havilands and m5 pant. Theyre the best pants ive found so far. The huge vents are awesome. I cant see myself wanting a different pair of pants after trying these
