Been thinking about trying the stone glacier spotting scope pocket after seeing Ryan S video on using it on the side. I have a sky 7400 and my question is....

Does anyone use it for a 2-3 liter hydration bladder? If so, how would I hang it in there to keep it from bunching to the bottom?

Also, will the pocket fit an 80mm angled vortex viper scope??

Thinking about putting my hydration bladder in the pocket on the outside to free up some room in the bag and getting the new camp pockets for organization. Opinions?

Thank you!

If you have any sewing skills, split the top seam, insert the retention mechanism straps, then resew the seam. For the straps two pieces of grossgrain with a snap in the end should work great. Or you could do a ring and peg retention mechanism with paracord. Snaps are probably easier to source than the ring and peg.

Personally I wouldn't put my water bladder further from my back than necessary, maybe on the side if balanced on both sides. With the 7400 I haven't found a lack of space yet and keep everything but the bladder and tripod inside. The bladder goes between the bag and frame. Tripod slips under compression straps. Since getting the 7400, I've almost exclusively run the bag in the 4500 mode without a lid.

That's exactly why I got the spotting scope pocket.........to put my 3L bladder in it. I don't care if it scrunches down or not as it empties. Got an extra one for the spotter for when I take the spotter with me.

Speaking of Ryan, has anyone heard from him since the hurricane hit Hawaii?

He was in SLC and then Nevada hunting.
