I have not used my terminus to haul meat yet. I have loaded it up with 75# and 100#. It handled 75 pounds well. with a 100# The load was slipping down some. I have a curvy back so I think the lumbar pad would help the really heavy loads.

The SG really controls the loads well, that was something I noticed in BB's Heavy load video that the SG held that load with very little movement when he did the swing side to side demo. IMHO better then the Kifaru in that same demo. Keeping heavy Loads secured, and limiting the amount of inertia really helps if you have to navigate an obstacle.

BB's critique of the waist belt was also spot on, I find it harder to tighten then other packs I have used. It does get tight and holds, just takes a little effort.

I also thinks it helps having light compact gear in the terminus. I use about half the available cubic inches. I can spread my gear out vertically in the pack and really keep it tight to the load self so I really do not see a problem with it hanging to far back.

What pack do you have wrongside?

I like the compression as well, works to hold and compress in place.

sreekers,

My large, and main, pack is a MR Grizzly. I know it isn't cutting edge design and light weight, but it's tough as nails and fits me very well. Before that I used the Arcteryx Bora series packs for many years.

I've pretty well tapered off in my gear spending, I like what I have and it works for me, but if I do get a chance, would like to try a SG Terminus and, maybe, one of Steve and Angie's new Paradox packs. Maybe one day... :)
