So I'll be the guy who admits that the "quick detach buckle" is about to make me lose my mind! I'm certain technique is involved but I can't seem to get this thing to come apart to save my life lol. I have pushed, pulled, cursed, twisted, cursed, and pried some more almost to the point of fearing breakage. Any tips?

There are instructions on page like 3 or 4 of this thread. It's definitely a pain. Thought I was gonna break my fingers lol. Significantly easier after the first time. You gotta do a twisting motion at first, and once you get that initial snap, then it's much easier to just kinda slide it on and off.

They are definitely closer than I would like, but with it positioned correctly, it hasn't been an issue for me with my admittedly little time with it, so far.

I have not felt any discomfort from the strap.

It felt good in a t-shirt around the house for me, but in the field I’ve only worn it with a coat so far.

have you guys used the bear spray holster? I'm stuck between the Kuiu and SG, Kuiu is cheaper for me in Canada but I like the lower weight and ability to add bear spray holster to the bino harness. I hunt in grizzly country so I like the idea of having it closer than my belt.

I wore it for two days of rabbit hunting/running around in the mountains in December hunting this year and had this issue. I like to wear my binos pretty high and tight (Trail Kreitzer mentions how high and tight he likes his in his SG bino holster review and I share the sentiment) and felt like top of the back piece kinda grinding below the nape of my neck after six or seven hours. I'm gonna mess around with it some more and see if I can get it to be more comfortable. I'm not a huge guy (5'11, 180lbs) and have to have all the straps adjusted down just about to their minimum length.

For comfort, I've found the OV harness to be the absolute best. Unfortunately with it, the magnets aren't strong enough (I have Zeiss Conquest 10x42's, not huge binos) and it'll flop open if you're climbing over deadfall or hustling. It's impossible to wear on a horse, it just starts flapping open if you decide to go any faster than a walk. I've thought about trying to Frankenstein the OV straps to my SG pouch.

I have the rangefinder pouch as well and definitely had it too snug when I first set it up. I'd hear little cracks of hook-and-loop when trying to open it and range an archery target (and it actually pulled the rubber gasket on the eyepiece of my rangefinder off so I gotta get that replaced). So, don't make it as snug as you think is the lesson on the rangefinder pouch.

Just curious if anyone has any thoughts about the size of the skyline Bino harness versus the marsupial enclosed. Trying to find the smallest bino harness cause I typically run a set of 6 x 32 compacts for most of my hunting.

I’m curious how much potential there is for the exposed Velcro in the front to pick up pine needles, seeds, etc.

Mine has only about 20 miles on it, but *nothing* got caught.

I have the OG marsupial and have loved it thus far, but looking at the SG has me wondering if there is some lighter/smaller/slimmer/waterproof/non magnetic and more adjustable features im missing out on.

Two big issues I forsee happening are:
A) The shoulder straps maybe being too close together and the left over strap just hanging out.
B) The harness collapsing with gear in the pockets, I like to run wind checker/calls/chapstick and a micro cloth in the harness. Maybe if I put a couple pieces of foam inside of both sides to keep some shape?
C) Bunching of material or gaps in sizing with the bungee cord adjusting, I don’t want my binos flopping around inside the harness.

Im super tempted to give this a go against my OG marsupial. I just want to be sure.

I have no experience with the Marsupial so I can't offer anything there.

1. I don't think I follow what you're asking, but I guess I have about 6" of strap on each side left and it simply tucks flat, neatly down behind the pack (between pack and chest). Unless you're talking about the other end that comes around from behind the back to buckle to the pack. Then, yes, excess will just be hanging out unless you trim off.
2. So far I only carry 4 bullets in the side pockets - they don't cause any issue. However, to try to test for you I put a standard prescription bottle in and, to your concern, I think maybe it does collapse into the main bino pouch a little. Though not enough that it was an issue for my 10x42 binoculars.
3. I don't have an issue.

I was referring the shoulder straps but I suppose the side straps would pose a possible issue as well. I’m surprised their aren’t strap keepers on there for the excess.

I ditched mine and ended up with a Marsupial. Thought the SG was going to be the one but the side pockets are tiny on it.

I received this harness a couple of days ago and am going to keep it. My two big criteria were something that's minimalist, and also non-magnetic since I use a compass. The Skyline is probably the best option for me considering these two factors. I'm still experimenting with what I want in the pockets, but so far I found my compass + map in the back pocket, wind checker in left pocket, and an inReach Mini in the right pocket work pretty well. I can even clamp the carabiner on the inReach Mini to the side strap for additional security.

Only a couple of downsides: The Outdoorsmans Short Binocular Adapter won't fit while attached to the binoculars, so I just put it up for sale on the classifieds. It's pretty sad since I loved securing my binoculars from harness to pan head in ~2 seconds. The second downside is that the Marsupial was much easier to open and close with one hand. I'm hoping that some more adjustments and practice will make it smoother.

I hope SG adds some more minimalist-themed attachments to the Skyline system, I really like it so far.

Bumping an old thread but in case anyone is still interested, I have an SG Skyline bought from a Rokslide member and formerly a Small OG Marsupial, and compared them side-by-side before parting with the Marsupial.

Both are awesome and you can't go wrong either way. Subtle nuances:

-SG is more adjustable (read: adjustable at all) for a tighter fit to smaller optics. My basic Vortex 10x42's are snugly held with zero extra slack/space with the velcro adjustment system, and the harness system overall is very compact. Marsupial had about a full inch of clearance from the top of the binos to the pivot of the top lid without use of spacers etc. Larger optics that fit Marsupial exactly would be a system with no wasted space, and with a zippered pocket on the front that SG doesn't have in favor of full adjustability. But the smallest OG Marsupial was still just a little oversized for my specific binos. I initially wasn't wild about the velcro on SG's system but it's excellent.

-Marsupial is slightly easier to open/close with one hand but this is due to the magnet design which for some is a crux and not really an issue with SG anyway when properly adjusted.

-It's a well-put concern about bunching of material but this is not an issue at all with SG. If there does not need to be fabric anywhere, then there isn't. The only extra stuff that hangs would be bungee when adjusted which you can trim.
