Hey guys, I just wanted to pass on a little hack that has helped me love my Stone Glacier Xcurve even more. First of all the problem I was having was the straps you pull to tighten the shoulder straps were just too short for me. Every time I went to take the pack off I had to let all the slack out which made putting the pack back on difficult. Trying to pinch the remaining tab that was pressed up again the tension lock was annoying and pretty much impossible with gloves on. Well all I did was tie a little extra 550 cord to the ends of both straps and it is amazing how much nicer the process of getting this pack on is for me. I'm guessing most of you guys may not have this problem and it might just be a personal issue, but I wanted to share this in case there were other guys in the same boat as me. Pics below to explain what I am talking about. Stone Glacier xcurve is the most comfortable load bearing pack I have used to date.

What is your height and weight , i was thinking about upgrading from the Krux to Xcurve but dont want this issue. The krux has plenty of adjust room

I'm 72" tall (6ft even) and usually weigh around 210 lbs. Pack has plenty of adjustment everywhere else and you can get any waist belt you need. I'm running a medium. Unfortunately I just find the shoulder straps to be too short for the way I like to take my pack on and off. I used to use mystery ranch packs which seem to have an absurd amount of shoulder strap slack which I believe was intentional to accommodate military personnel who may wear their packs over body armor. I would imagine the xcurve to be very similar to the krux as far as adjustability which makes me think that you wouldn't even notice this problem. I think I was just used to the extra long straps found on my mystery ranch nice frame.

6'1, 225lbs with a thick chest and my Xcurve fits me great, think it has to do with amount of slack you want in the shoulder straps when you remove it. I only loosen up a little on the straps when I remove my pack. Good idea tho.

You need to adjust your shoulder straps where the attach to the frame with Velcro. Looks like you are in the smallest configuration possible.

Blkqi hit the nail on the head. You need to adjust where the shoulder straps are located. Good video on pack fitting on the SG YouTube page

Xcurve fits me great aswell. I don't think moving the pads further up is going to change the length of the strap enough to negate the issue I was having. Adding the extra cordage give me something to grab even when I let all the slack out.

I do have the pads pretty far down right now. I did that when I was packing my bull out this year. Pack was under some heavy weight and was riding my hips pretty bad. I adjusted those pads pretty far down to bring the waist belt higher up on my hips.

Yeah I'm 6' 180lbs and my shoulder straps are mounted way higher on the velcro than yours. Plenty of room for adjustment on the pull tabs.

Mine are mounted halfway up the frame as well , about 3” of velcro shows at the bottom. I used the fit video on stone glaciers sight to adjust

In the video they state the black to grey line should be right at your collar bone, I would say you've probably got them sucked down too far. If it fits and is comfortable then I guess it doesn't matter but id imagine it would just improve if adjusted better

Watched the video again and made some minor adjustments to the shoulder strap positions. Feels a little better but still glad I added some extra cord to those straps. Just too short for my liking.
