Cut off the nalgene holders and sewed (roughly) on two taller stretch pockets using the lower leg portion of a pair of old De Havilland pants that were tore up. Doesn’t look all that pretty but they are strong and will do the job. Someone let Kurt know I’m lookin for a job ha ha

Very nice. Much more usable than the pockets that come on it. I did basically the same with a SG 3300 and it worked great. I don't need alot of pockets but I've got to have somewhere to stick a headlamp, beanie, etc once the sun comes up. Nice job!

Just watched a podcast on Shoot2Huht and Kurt was saying he thinks stretch pockets are stupid because they retain a ton of water haha. I think you are fired without being hired.

What made you want the stretch pockets?

I’ve done mine, but I am surprised the buckles on each side of the bag/frame aren’t setup reversed from each other

Stock, if you want to just use the frame to strap something to, you need to change one set of buckles on one side so that they can mate with each other

Setup opposite, like I did mine, just take the bag off and the male/female are already good to go together

Hopefully I explained that right

I kind of get what he’s saying but I don’t agree. I’d rather have some stretch material to fit more in and just have deeper pockets in general. When the packs full, the stock pockets almost have no use because they are so short. This will fit a liter and a half nalgene up to a thermos. It can fit rain gear, a tarp for glassing in rain, and when not used are just tighter to the pack. He also said that they are headed in this direction, starting with the R3 years ago and now the new sky archers will have em. I just think stretch panels are more versatile.

In the same podcast he said he had redesigned a couple packs to have them on them as well if memory serves correctly..

I like this. My biggest gripe with my SG pack is the shallow side pockets, wish they were deeper.
