I just received a COL4800 from SG, that was ordered in tan. Below is a picture of it(couple different lightings). I believe this is Foliage but SG customer service tells me this is indeed tan. Are the colors on their website that misleading or is customer service incorrect?

I have 2 packs in foliage and they look darker than this IMO. It does look darker than the tan on their website though.

Out of curiosity, what's it look like outside? Lighting can really play tricks with grays/tans/greens

Looks tan to me. Maybe see if there’s someone in your neck of the woods who has a tan or foliage SG to compare, or order a small accessory? Any of the box stores carry SG? What I think is crazy is they call that gray color ”foliage” when it’s clearly “dead stick.” Cmon man, foliage is effing green.

I thought their packs were gray, but I have a foliage marsupial bino harness and when I hold them side by side, they are the same. Put a gray hat next to them and its obviously different.

My mistake, I meant to say that mine appears to be ranger. Here is a picture of “tan”. I’m sorry but you’ll never convince me mine is anywhere near that. I will take a picture outside when I am home from work.

It looks very tan from the pictures you posted. I’m not trying to be insulting but have you ever had an issue with seeing colors before?

It’s interesting how certain shades of gray are pretty spectacular Camouflage. Look at mule deer. I had a blue merle Australian shepherd a few years back. She could be sitting 10 feet from you in a sun dappled forest and you couldn’t see her.

Your pack in tan looks similar to other packs in tan I've seen. I do agree it doesn't quite match up to what's on the website. There can be variation across individual rolls of fabric even. Color is a tough thing.

Here’s a picture of the packs hanging in a store. The mystery ranch and the little nalgene holder are foliage.. and this pic was before they started offering ranger green.

For sure that isn’t ranger.

The tan packs are definitely not the same color as that computer generated tan on the website but neither is the foliage and I doubt the ranger is either.

They will be darker than what is seen on the website.

I couldn’t imagine that being a big deal but if you aren’t happy send it back. Their CS is great, get another color or go with another company that has the tan you want.

Your first picture looks weird, while your accessory looks tan. In the second pic they both look tan. Here's mine, the pic looks like the pack does.
