Thanks. I’m looking for a hoodie to wear for early season. I have a MTN Ops BattleGround Merino hoody but it’s the 260gram… nicer for later season but too hot for early. I always wear a form fitting MtN Ops merino short sleeve T as my main base and then layer over that. I have a Sitka Core Liteweight hoody and it’s pretty good but man does it stink after a few days (even with the Polygiene)

I have them. Semi true to size - maybe a little tight.

I like because merino. I wouldn’t wear them on hot day. Best for 60 or below temp.

I layer with them. Durability wise - pretty solid but with anything - can get little issues here and there with getting snagged on something, but most light weight merinos are all the same (not durable like a bulletproof carhartt sweatshirt).

Also love mine, although I use it more as a sun hoodie/on the move ultralight mid-layer (I am super hot when moving), or in-between my actual mid-layer and base layer when stationary for extra insulation. It is so thin and light that you will never notice it no matter how many layers you stack.

It is the typical Stone Glacier stickman fit. If you are athletically built or hit the gym, your normal size may be really tight through the shoulders and chest, mine was anyways. I am typically a Medium, had to go up to a Large at 6', 175# so it wasn't annoyingly tight across the delt's when fully zipped. The body is huge, but for my use I actually like that loose and baggy fit with a pack belt on, as it breathes supremely well.

I've bush-whacked through about every type of foliage imaginable in Western WA chasing elk, and mine looks not much worse for wear compared to when it arrived. Anything prickly will definitely cause it grief though.

SG's merino is probably my favorite. Perfect fabric weight for me, fit is pretty good, and it has a nice feel. I haven't had any durability issues. The fit of the hood is outstanding; Kuiu should take some notes.

thanks for this! I'm wanting to use this piece exactly like you describe.

I'm going to run to Scheels today and try one on, hopefully the fit is there. The XXL would probably fit me through the shoulders best, but its likely going to be way too long in the sleeve and body, so I may need to go with an XL.

No problem!

I often find that I can rock just my Duckworth Vapor tee and SG Chinook, and be comfortable in conditions from 30's up while moving. Great piece, due to how light it is, it is either always in my pack or always on me.
