So, I bought a SG approach pack about a month ago after drooling over it for awhile. The archery season just opened up this last weekend and I started using the system. I went with this pack because I wanted a pack that was lightweight, tough and for use both as a day pack and a spike out pack. The approach is an outstanding day pack and my sleeping gear goes in the load shelf area. So, I get to my camp, dump my sleeping gear an off I go. Simple and neat---just take out the tent, pad and bag. I don't really need it for meat hauling because I go back and get my trusty steeds. I would not use this system for an extended hunt but for a couple of days, it is the cat's meow. I'd go with a solo or terminus. I've got all my gear to about 25 pounds which is doable for me to hike the high country of Idaho and hunt with it all during the day.
I really really like the pack. It is super lightweight, extremely comfortable and the most important thing for me is it has the features I want. My only real complaint is that I wished it had a couple of water bottle pockets but that is not a deal breaker.

I have a homemade quiver system that I can sling over my shoulder and it just happens to fit in the tripod pocket---very easy to get to. AND Miss September (my usual evening date) fits in the load shelf area. Super easy to carry and fast to get out. I've just had it out several times but it will get its intended purpose chasing muleys in the high country. Hopefully these photos will show up as I usually have trouble posting them.
Anyway, if you are looking for a pack that you can use for a day pack and a spike out, this would fit that bill.

I really like my Approach bag too. Like you said, up to a couple of days it works good.

Yup, I am really impressed with it and the design. I'll pick up a solo eventually for those "little" longer stays.
