Stone glacier add a pocket

Anyone messed around with stone glacier bags and adding a zippered pocket. Was looking at the new archers 6200 and it seems like a guy could cut open a seam, add a zipper and a little pocket for quick access to small items whether it was in bivvy mode or regular mode.

Would the bag still be waterproof if you found a waterproof zipper and siliconed the sewing around it?
