I have a Weatherby 307 Range XP in 7PRC. I love the gun and it shoots well for me. My only issue is the factory stock. It's flimsy, the finish is already wearing off and the barrel isn't free floated (one point of contact). Full disclosure, Weatherby offered me a replacement stock free of charge and their customer service has been excellent. That said, I'd like to upgrade to a different field stock or chassis. I'm strictly a hunter and don't need any excessive mods or add-ons. A vertical grip and adjustable cheek riser are my preferences. Let me hear your suggestions!

It wont get you the adjustable cheek weld but the Stocky's VG2 is an amazing stock for the money. Going adjustable will add cost and usually half a pound or more to the stock. Stocky's had a pretty good sale going right now too. The 307 alpine ct comes wearing a Peak44 Bastion stock which is great but not cheap... I think they are 10% off right now.

I went through the same process. Weatherby customer service was great and sent me out a replacement stock due to paint wear/chipping.

I took a dreml to the original to open up the barrel channel and bedded the action. The first stock was making contact with the barrel. I opened it up enough that it would NOT make contact while beings setup on the bipod, which is attached via pic rail.

Seems to have positively impacted the accuracy.

I did consider adding a full length SRS combo rail as I think it would also act as a stiffener.

I too would like like to upgrade the stock, BUT, i haven't.
