I’m building a 7 prc on an origin action. I’m all ears with any advice or experiences with stocks, barrels , brakes etc. Thanks

I’m a big fan of the the Stocky’s carbon series. I have both the vertical grip and sporter style. They have been tough despite some minor finish chipping. I will say that with a barrel don’t be afraid to go with steel and try some middle of the road contours. I shoot a custom 7PRC with a Bartlein #3 contour that is 26in long. As for the brake I’ve been pretty impressed with the SRS TI Pro brake.

I'm using a Manners but they're expensive, Pure Precision was fine when I used it.
Bartlein barrels are fine. My Benchmark carbon is the most accurate I have had and at 24" is lighter than my 20" Bartlein 3b. My Ace barrel hasn't been chambered yet but has more consistent lapping along it's length than the Bartlein or Benchmark.
The 5 port SRS self timer brake worked well but 5 ports requires dbl ear protection if you will shoot any volume, unless you want tinnitus.
I put a DD Enticer Lti can on my Benchmark and won't be going back to a brake.

Been looking into the pure precision stocks don’t want to spend to much more than that

Manners carbon fiber folding stock or the Element from XLR are the go to for a lot of people. Neither are cheap but they’re light and top of the line.

My current 7 PRC is a 20" Proof CF in a manners LRH. I've tried HNT26's and XLRs and go back to manners but I think it's personal preference more than anything.

Like others have said, don't be afraid of steel barrels. When I rebarrel this one, it will be steel. Lightweight is great, but 7 PRC starts to be not much fun when you go super light, not to mention if you can remain effective behind it.

My 7PRC is in a Manners PH, great stock. Shoots well, handles the recoil well. I shoot suppressed. I also have an XLR Element 4.0 magnesium that is inletted for the same action. The felt recoil, suppressed, for my 300PRC and 7PRC in the XLR chassis makes it not fun to shoot, my Manners PH stocks are substantially better. However, I imagine with a good break it would fine.

As far as barrels I now stick with cut barrels. All my cut barrels (Benchmark, CRB, Bartlein and Proof) have been very accurate. My only button barrels, 2 CarbonSix are so so at best, however they are comparatively inexpensive. To me the extra cost to go quality cut barrel is worth it.

On the pure precision altitudes they will give you muzzle flip because of the drop at the keel on the stock. I have one on a 7mag and on a 22-243ai and on the 7mag you really have to have your form perfect for good consistent shooting. On the lower recoiling rifle it’s not so bad but it harder to spot your own impacts too.

I put my 7 PRC in an AG Composites K2 adjustable stock. Has a little bit of weight to it to tame down the recoil, but its rock solid, no need for a bedding job, and I like the part of being able to customize it to your liking when you order through them.

When I put the rifle together, I went for parts that I could assemble similar to an AR build with just tools I had in the garage. My build is:

Defiance Ruckus LA
Proof Research 24" Carbon Pre-Fit
TriggerTech Special
AG Composites K2-A
Seekins Precision Hunter Bottom Metal
Seekins Precision Scope Rings
Leupold MK5 HD 7-35

It shoots 1/2" to 3/4" MOA on average I'd say (I'm no PRS shooter by any means) and has a strong preference of the Federal Premium 175 ELD-X. It didn't like any of the Hornady stuff for some reason. Overall, I'm just happy that I could put all of those components together with no real need to send it off to a gunsmith.

I like my ag composites alpine hunter. Srs makes a good brake, if you like brakes. I only have experience with proof carbon barrels and they dhoot great for me

Good to hear I’ve got everything I need now . I went with the manners pro hunter with mini chassis for a stock Hawkins Hunter dbm bottom metal . A origin action and a proof prefit . Unfortantly I had to send the barrel back due to a headspace issue and very bad reamer weld in chamber. There sending me another hopfully the next one is good .
