Stock Opinions

I have an 18” 22 Creed build started and was looking for opinions on traditional sporter style stocks vs stocks that have more of a vertical grip (like an AG Alpine Hunter).

The rifle has a sendero contour barrel and VX5HD 3-15. Other than AR’s I do not own any vertical grip rifles. The guns main use would be hunting in MI using some sort of rest most of the time (tripod, box blind, etc).

The vertical grip seems like it could be more comfortable/natural for the wrist but I worry about the little bit extra bulk they provide for carrying and offhand shots.

Any insight is appreciated!

I had similar reservations and went with a McMillan Game Scout. I am happy I did. I also bought a Pure Precision that I did not like.

Man, you just gotta feel some and figure out which is more comfortable for you. I prefer the vertical grip personally.

It seems the hottest stocks going right now are the McMillan Mountaineer series, Game Warden 2.0, Manners Pro Hunter and Manners Long Range Hunter. Those are all vertical so that says something as to where the market is pointed.

A stock I recently got that I like the feel of and need to get it to the range is the MDT CRBN...it is more vertical but not quite as vertical as the ones mentioned above.
