hard primers are not a "thing" unless the primers were built with the wrong cup.As others said, make sure that area is clean and dry.
Also, hard primers are a thing. I have seen them across a wide variety of manufacturers. PMC sent me a new case of 9mm after I had several boxes worth of light strikes.

True misfires where the primer is hit in the right location, hit hard enough, and hit deep enough is extremely rare. Even more so multiples and with different ammo.
If it happened with one type of ammo only and confined to one lot...maybe wrong cup, poor compaction, wrong anvil in primer, seating issue etc. But again across 2 different brands it is a gun issue.
