In the stand this morning, had a 2.5 year old 6 point wandering around that was still in velvet. There were also 2 spikes with him but they were both hard antlered and making scrapes and rubs. The 6 did not exhibit any of that behavior and was easily intimidated by the bigger of the two spikes. Cactus buck? There were no irregularities on his antlers and he didn’t exhibit any signs of injury or illness. Didn’t get a chance to check his testosterone levels or observe his testicular area for injuries lol. My first experience seeing one in velvet this late. I’m in central VA

I would have shot him so I could have him on the wall.

Barring going out of state, it's not going to happen for me.

I’ve seen two killed in October and later still in velvet. Both were some kinda hermaphrodite.

It was my first sit on a new property so I let him walk. If I see him again and he’s still that way then I’ll hopefully get a shot at him.
