Stevens 560 Field Compact Shotgun

Looking at the Stevens 560 Field Shotgun. Says the compact version is around 5.5 pounds which is crazy. I had been looking to to go higher end with a Franchi or Benelli but these things have some decent reviews and what really want is a light shotgun for upland and jump shooting. Found one for around 400, with that price i dont have to worry about beating it up and would have some money for a cerakote. Anyone have experience with these? Id like to confirm the weight as well.

I was not familiar with this, so googled it. The company wqebsite says gun weight on the standard sized model is 6.61lb (6lb 10oz). Even that is relatively light, and actual weight is going to vary depending on the specific piece of wood that's on it. The compact model says 5.4lb, but I'm skeptical of that weight...an inch shorter LOP does not reduce weight by over a pound that I've ever seen. The compact has a really short LOP too (13.5"), its too short for most adults. 6.6lb is a good pretty light weight for a do-all gun if that's what you want. I'd want to know if it reliably cycles 1oz loads so you can avoid knocking yourself silly after a round of clays.

Yeah that seemed suspect to me as well. Seeing some conflicting reports. I might call the directly.

Any idea who is making them for Stevens? At that price point I'd wager at least one US dollar that it is made in Turkey.
Which isn't always a bad thing as I've had fantastic luck with a couple of TriStar shotguns in the last few years.

Yep its a Turkish gun, for sure.
