Stevens .410 Turkey.. DEATH

Man that is incredible performance out of a .410! Makes me wanna do the same thing. You're the second guy I've seen mention that apex ammo. Must be something to it!

Dude I love my steven 301 410. In fact I just bought my second one yesterday so my wife and son both have something to use when we are out. I have taken three birds over 50 yards with mine running TSS.
Hard to take my 12 guage out when the 410 does so well.
My almost four year old will attempt to take a bird with it this year.

That’s awesome! I just purchased another 301 but in a 20. I did not have a 20 but built it the same way. I’m still going to hunt with the .410 unless my daughter or wife goes.

Crazy seeing folks killing birds at 50 yds with the .410. I myself have one of the Stevens .410s as well, I bought it and got a choke and red dot. Patterned it and have still never used it. I feel much more comfortable with my trusty 12 gauge by my side. Perhaps I might bring it out this Spring now.

What are you shooting out of the 12GA?
Me personally, would rather take my 410 shooting tss, than my 12 ga shooting NON Tss.
I havent personally done any counts but I think the performance may be better past 30 yards, just from what I have seen anyway.
I could be completely wrong lol.

Anyone else have young kids use this? Gonna put my 8 year old on a bird next month. Thinking either crossbow or one of these Steven’s.

My daughter and son both started shooting the larger guns at 10. She was 65lbs, very sensitive, definitely not a tomboy but absolutely loved shooting the 243 and now at 13yrs the Steven’s 301 20ga and 30-06 but my now 10yr old son 105lbs. Loves tagging along hunting, shooting, archery, never complains even when you’re thinking he probably should go see a doctor, he still prefers the 17 HMR and just isn’t a fan of anything bigger quite yet. They both started out with small rim fires and are moving along at their own pace as they’re comfortable just never would’ve guessed it to work out like it is.

I bought my son a stevens 410 last month to try and get his first bird with. This is #9 boss from 25 yards out of the factory choke.

I’m happy with it. If ammo was easier to find I’d like to check other loads but this will surely work.

My 4 year old will be trying to take a bird this year with a 410. It will be mounted on a tripod.
I know what you are are thinking, but my boy is a freak. Started shooting rifles at 2 years old.

I love turkey hunting with 410's. I use a
Mossberg 500 410 TSS turkey gun .
Mossberg SA 410ga TSS turkey gun .
Mossberg SA 20 ga turkey gun.
The 410's i use Indian Creek. 385 chokes.
Apex Ninja 9.5 shot in both.
20 ga longbeard xr 5 shot LB xr choke.
Or Federal 3 inch 9 shot with Carlson tss choke. All 3 has reflex red dots. Now my goal is to set my 28 ga up for next year.

Would like to know how this turns out as I have a few youngones that would like to get a bird. Not sure if 410 or crossbow is the way to go foe them.
