State for first elk hunt? Archery or rifle

Looking to do an elk hunt this September. Ive got 3 points in Colorado, and none is most other states. Do you think i could draw a decent tag as a 15YO? I work part time at an archery shop so i can do either style of hunt. Is it worth burning points or keep building?

Yes you can draw a decent archery tag in Co. I’m assuming you live in Co, so there should be some in relatively close. Who is going to hunt with you becomes more the question since they need points or you carry them with yours. Gen Wyoming tag needs points so this summer, apply for them so after you’ve been on a trip or two you have that as a long term goal.

Are you from Co? Do you have anyone to help you/ will you be 16 by the time Sept rolls around so you can drive yourself out?
