Has anyone started an archery club as a 501c3 or llc? Looking to get something rolling in my area as our options are non existent.
Plans are to have multiple 3d courses.
Just looking for some experiences and advice, dos/fonts, etc.

We are working on this in my area. It’s pretty tough locally to find somewhere to shoot indoors from Nov-March just due to local rents/leases.

The hardest part I think will be leasing/buying land. We are in SW CO and it aint cheap! An indoor range at some point would be great, but we are looking for outdoor space for 3d to start.

Similar boat here. It’s also hard to get people to buy in with just an idea. We are doing some fundraisers/raffles to help offset some of the costs associated with getting started!

Have you looked into any grant opportunities? I'm hoping once we get a 501c3 established we can apply to some of the archery association grants and others to help get rolling.

Yes we looked into a 501c3 and decided it wasn’t worth the money to file for that yet. I think it’s something we will do eventually though

@lak2004 Feel free to reach out. While I haven't personally applied for the 501c3 I have been on the BoD of several archery clubs and am currently on the BoD of an archery club in Boulder CO. I can probably get you in touch with several of the folks that have started Non profit Archery clubs in Colorado.

You can also reach out to the Colorado Bowhunters Association.

For grants every year the Colorado Parks and Wildlife do a public range grant. If your range will be open to the public you may be eligible for the grant.

The hardest part will be dealing with all the humans.
