What’s your preferred footwear on the last 50 yards or so of an Archery stalk?

Want to buy something... provide brand of shoe if you participate in this thread.

Thanks!

Lone Peak Leather Co Stalkasins. Not cheap but the best protection I've had on long stalks. Not as quiet as some things, but plenty quiet for me once they break in and soften up.

I’ve been trying to come up with an affordable alternative to stalkasins and rimrock stalkers...been doing some research on sand socks, but haven’t been able to find anything locally yet for the touch and feel test

I have a pair of russel moccisans, thula thula s. They are expensive, custom made, quite and comfortable. But damn they have issues. The first time I wore them the stitching came out. A buddy thought I had fish string on them and stepped on it and unraveled about the whole shoe. Sent them back ( shipping both ways on my dime ) Then I wore them awhile and the stitching on the toe part wore due to walking through Texas brush, had to pay for repair and( shipping again on my dime) Then the soles wore out and had to be resoled. 165.00 plus shipping both ways again. And I only wear these One week out of the year, pig and javelina hunting in Texas that’s it. It’s to the point that I know if I wear them they are going to need to be sent back and repaired, so I really don’t wear them any more. So, would I recommend these to others, no. What star rating would I give them, maybe a 1/2 a star.

I have a pair of Minnetonka moccasins that I keep in my pack. I slip em on and tie my boots to my pack for that last 100-150 yards. Pretty light, don’t take up much room and not terribly expensive. Way better than those felt over shoe things.

The soft bottom little bootsies look amazing. I think I'll grab myself a pair.

I use light weight running shoes. And walk on the balls of my feet when getting close.

I use old reebok Nano crossfit shoes (2.0 version) with a heavy pair of tall wool socks over them. Light and still give you good feel. Socks get worn out pretty fast, but they are cheap. Roll the socks down to the toe of the shoe while they are in your pack and they go on quick.

I like wrestling shoes if there is a lot of rock and cactus. Otherwise barefoot is the way to go.

I have a pair of custom moccasins but they are super slippery and not as quiet as wrestling shoes

Yeah, the ankle high fringy things that look like they belong at a hippy drum circle? Thems the ones you want!

I was thinking more, the ones my great uncle would wear when walking to the edge of the pond to crappie fish, paired with short shorts and a gamemaster flannel.

Wouldn't the bungee style sneak boots be faster to get on? I see folks like to change shoes, but I just haven't had the time to do that when chasing mule deer...
