The majority of my stable is B&W ebony. So naturally ….. my two other stalkers are enjoyable to shoot so I’m going to have south profile the grip like a jackal. Still debating between a 17 or 19 inch riser and carbon acs or just acs.

It’s been a long wait. The postman finally came. Both are 15 inch apex risers. One low wrist and one is medium wrist. As always I chose B&W ebony. One is ACS longbow 44lbs @28 longs. The other set is the backwoods composite 44lbs @28 XL

Time to start playing.

So now that we have seen your bow and the drooling has stopped......where is our shooting review of those LB limbs?

Grin

Strings not even stretched in . I haven’t even tied on a nock point for the ACS limbs. I need to sling a few more then I’ll set up the chrony.

This is both jackals laid on top of each other. The one on top is pre-cnc the below one is cnc. South told me he can’t make them like mine in the top of this picture anymore. So he beefed them up a smidge.

These two pics show the pre cnc jackal on top of the low wrist apex. Pretty significant difference in profile. The second is today’s standard jackal on top of low wrist apex. Approximately 3/8ths difference in the heel.

I’m really digging the lower wrist apex so far. Both sets of limbs are pretty smooth. The XL naturally pull a bit easier than the L. Both bows are set 49 lbs (4 turns out) @ 28.5. Will have more data as I get it. Still waiting on mail man to deliver string goodies

Shawn, is it because the new Risers have the G10 insert in there?

my SS ILF riser is beefier than my older Morrison and Dryad probably so South could get that insert in there. My SS has zero flex...my others have a little...though it's not noticeable.

Yeah it could be for aesthetics I suppose. Just so you don’t see the I-beam in the sight window. Or it could’ve been a structural integrity issue. People could’ve been stringing em up with out a stringer and wrapping their leg through snapping risers. I didn’t ask him. He just said he can’t do them that way anymore. Fair enough !!! No big deal. I’ll just practice more with this style.

Your Jackal grips look like they’re lower than mine but the that grip is my favorite. I just sent a brand Apex back to South to have him knock down the “medium” grip to a low grip. I laid my Jaeger high grip over the Apex medium much like you did in the picture and it was the exact same grip angle as my high jaeger. I’ve always thought South’s grips were too steep. Same thing with a medium grip jaeger laid on top of my low grip Supercross, same grip angle.

Yeah he will customize em any way you want them. Now’s defiantly the time of year to get everything touched up.

I’m enjoying playing around with the ILF.
