Deadman anchors work really well. A quick Google search will come up with some good ideas. One that surprised me was taking an empty ziplock bag, reinforcing it with duct tape and filling it 2/3 full of snow. Wrapping your cord around the middle, burying it. The French alpine institute did a test and it took something like 400kg of force to pull that anchor.

Deadman anchors.

Sticks, rocks, skis, poles, whatever. I prefer sticks, buried perpendicular to the direction of pull.

You'll want longer lines on your tent. Clove Hitch around whatever you have, bury it, stomp on snowing fresh (if the snow is well settled, dont stomp) let snow setup a little bit before tensioning anything too tightly.

What size bag (guessing 1 galllon?), and I wonder how deep they buried them to get that kind of resistance? Also, I would imagine that the density (wet vs. cold powder), of the snow would be a big factor.

From what I read on BPL it's a one gallon plastic bag with a duct tape wrap to reinforce the bag

Thats what I ended up taking to Kodiak. Worked great. BUT we didn't have the typical Kodiak winds to really test them out.
