Currently running the option archery quivalizer. Been using it for about 3 seasons now. Maybe 4. I loved the way it settles my pins, but in the wind it’s a wind sail. Finally going to bite the bullet and switch. Currently have a 10” Aae mountain lite back bar on the bow.

Should I get the Aae mountain lite 15” stab? Also thinking about an 8° quick disconnect? I like the idea of keeping the weight low. Should I buy more weights to play around with the balance? Am I better of with a 12” bar? I was leaning Aae because they’re so thin, I don’t feel like the wind will catch as bad.

Any help/ opinions would be appreciated. I love how archery is a constant game of tinkering, but I hate how it affects my pocket book lol. Momma isn’t too happy about it either usually lol.

What bow?

Honestly since I got my RX7 I’ve only ever used the small lower one it came with. Shoots great to 100 and way easier to pack around and shoot in hunting situations 🤷🏻‍♂️

If it’s windy, I run the quivalizer as a quiver and not a stabilizer. It’s good practice and I’m probably not going to shoot at an animal past 30-40 yards if it’s windy. Wind makes it hard to aim whether you’re running a quivalizer or a more traditional stabilizer. Although, I do agree that wind is a bit more noticeable with the quivalizer. Fair trade in my opinion, I love that thing and have one on two of my bows.

If you want to keep weight down, running a 15” bar probably isn’t going to work. I always start going down the road with weights for balance when I’m running a front/back bar.

I have run 15in with an 8-10 degree down quick disconnect as you have suggested. I run a Titanium archery Products 15in because I wanted the lightest weight bar so all the weight can be centered at the end. I didn't like bars that were heavy in the rod which meant more weight at the end to create the balance. The TAP bar is light and for 15in was cheap, I think under $100. Podium archery does some in house bars as well, there are two lines the standard and target stiff...not sure the weights of those bars though. I have no experience with AAE.

FWIW, I shoot the 15in stab in blinds and treestands. It works fine. I also find the longer bar can be supported on my elbow for weight distribution during hiking.

I understand there is balance to length of stab and weight. From what I've been told longer stabs mean less weight at the end to create balance. A shorter stab will need more weight to achieve the same effect.

I think your logic is on track. If you can go to a good shop and try a couple different lengths, that's what I'd suggest.

I understand the Quivalizer in the wind. I've tried the past three years to like it. I just can't get it to work for me in Wyoming.

Yeah I loved it when I could and hated it other times lol. I know nothing is perfect.

I only have experience with Bee Stinger (meh nothing special, wouldn't but again) and Cutter. Had the Cutters 12" in front and 8" in back for 6 years now and I really like them. Thin but sturdy. Oh and the logo is really cool, if you are into that sort of thing.

I haven’t had any issues with the AAE bars. Have a 15/10 on one bow. I have heard people feel more vibration with the AAE bars then others but it hasn’t been that noticeable to me. getting some extra weights will help you dial in the pin float better then just trying to use the 6 weights that come with them. Quattro and cutter make really nice bars if you’re looking for something different to try.

Ok I just ordered the 15” Aae. My question is do I have to buy Aae weights or are all weights the same? I was going to get 6 ounce weight and then some single weights. I don’t even know how to change them

Weights with the same thread will interchange. That said, weights designed for the stabilizer will be the right diameter for them to look "right." If you don't care about that, you can use whatever is cheap from Amazon.

I’m running a Mathews v3 was going to switch to the tight spot quiver too
I have a V3X and haven't run a stab hunting the last three seasons. I'm playing around with one again cause I'll be sheep hunting this year and expecting the possibility of a longer shot, but I hate that when I'm carrying my bow it always snags on brush and grass and it's extra weight. And I haven't been able to see a noticeable difference in groups, but my tests have been less than scientific.
The Mathews fixed quiver is amazing on the V3X. I'm not sure if you can get it on the v3 without some type of mod. But I don't need a side bar to level the bow. I didn't like the tight spot I had previously, Mathews I feel is quieter and less vibration and sits tighter.

Ok that’s interesting. I was just considering the tight spot because of the double gripper. Will hold the arrows better

I have the Mathews Lowpro 1 piece quiver on my V3. Absolutely love it and have since sold my tight spot.

Yep, It's what pushed me over the edge in 2022 to buy a new bow. I went in to get a new string on my 13yo DXT(with tight spot) and ended up with the V3X.

Well being that I already ordered everything, I will try the tight spot first. I got a good deal on it. I looked at the Mathews low pro because I like the looks of it for sure. Price is one factor but the other is how well it holds arrows. I shoot sevr broadheads and like the fact that the tight spot has 2 grippers to hold the arrows in. I don’t have to rely on the tip being buried into the foam and worry my expandables o ring will be broken when it comes time to pull it out.

That was a big problem with the quivalizer is my arrows would come loose or the sevr would deploy in the quiver. It was obnoxious

Mathews is certainly expensive but fortunately I found one on here used. I also use Sevr and had to customize it to hold the expendables better. Tight Spot is obviously a great quiver too and the double gripper works well.

I did have to change my grippers on my low pro when I dropped to 4mm arrows, but since then, they are holding tight. I've practiced a good bit lately and haven't had any arrows slide down.

I recently switched to Quattro stabilizers on both of my bows from AAE mountain series stabs. Had 15"/10" on one setup, and 12"/ 8" on the other. I had 10° QD front attachments on both.

So far I really love the Quattros, they seem to help dampen vibration better.

Would definitely recommend getting some extra weights, and adding more weight to the back bar. I like my bow to balance better at full draw (so that my sight bubble is level left/right with zero grip input) and I prefer a more neutral feeling front/back. But that's going to be your preference. FWIW, I always seemed to shoot better with the longer set of stabs.

So I got the 15” Aae and I’m running 6 ounces on the back bar with 3 on the front. So far I like the way it balances but I feel like it might be a little noisy. It’s hard for me to actually know. Might do something to dampen vibration to get the noise down a bit
