The story of the night is.......two bucks in the 180 class located. Only thing that will make it tough to locate them in the morning is the full moon.

I cant figure out how it is a good hunting strategy to walk all over the bottom of the basin. I seen it twice today, bumping deer both times.

I still have not found the one i watched this summer. He is around im sure, just have to keep looking if i dont connect with one of the others.

Talk to all of you in the morning, i am tired.

Least you got bucks located with a tag in hand! A former WY biologist friend of mine said that WY hunters as a stereotype were the worst he'd been around... due to being in such a great hunting state! I'm sure that's not entirely the truth though Scott! :) good luck in the morning!

The weather is spot on perfect here just east of you. I hope it's working for you on your hill.

Thanks for taking us poor SAW's (Stuck At Work) along with ya!

So i didn't see them this morning, and decided to be patient and back out this morning.

This is one thing i have learned from Robbys hunts, always patient, back out if, necessary. I have forced it in the past and lost. Will not make that mistake this season.

They seem to be more active in the evening, so i headed down the hill to meet my buddy. He will be here in an hour or so and we will get back up to camp and hunting.

He has never killed a mule deer so i am setting his standard @ 150. May have an unpressured deer picked out already, but we will see.

Instant coffee only tastes good after a hard day hunting!uploadfromtaptalk1379445302424.jpg

Crazy weather.....fog and snow has made it tough. Drying out gear and boots has been the game.

Good luck on your hunt! I got defeated on my first hunt so far. I got impatient and moved in on them ;) That full moon seems to really cut down on how much time they spend out in the open.

Good luck. Was just up in the Grey's River area this weekend. Packed in with a couple buddies and got rained on more then anything. One buddy ended up with a 28" 4x5 and another with a 26" 4x4. Beautiful country. The rain kept us in our tents for 5 hrs Saturday before the opener. Then rained off and on the next few days.

Yesterday was lots of fog and cold, several bucks, all small.

Just plain cold this morning, 35 deer this morning. Small bucks and does. Long way off too, makes it tough to judge quality. 2 were a little bigger, but not what i want.

Being patient is the toughest part. Hunting smarter than the guys sitting at the bottom is easier, but far less comfortable.

Thanks for following along, it has been encouraging. I wish it were more exciting. Will post pictures at home. We will see what evening brings.

Keep at it man! Sounds like you're doing the right things. Just a matter of time and you will find the one you're after.

Good luck tomorrow!

Keep with it. I grinded out 11 hard days and it gets tough. It's cliche but persistence pays!!!
Tomorrow post up a pics of a giant stud with your smile and holding his rack!
