The Springfield waypoint redline caught my eye and may be my next rifle. There’s not a ton of talk out there about this rifle, especially on here. The stock design is definitely a love it or hate it type design- personally I like the looks of it..

Looking for opinions from owners, specifically on the redline model. How are you liking it? Which barrel length and caliber do you choose?

Not an owner. It appears to be a pretty standard weight or lightish weight sporter rifle, suppressor ready and with an aftermarket stock, but at $2300 msrp thats pretty easy and approaching the price of the “off the shelf customs”. Given I havent heard much about them either, curious what caught your eye?

You can get them brand new off grabagun for $1500, which i can justify compared to $2300.

I’d say the things that caught my eye were the weight- 6lbs 4oz with the 20” barrel, the carbon barrel, grayboa stock, and the stock design gives it a “cool factor.” Springfield advertises a .75” moa guarantee and all the videos on YouTube have confirmed that. The con for me would be the lack of caliber offerings, currently only 6.5cm and .308.

I know someone who bought one but hasn't fired it yet 6.5 with the 20" barrel. It.s a pretty smooth action I've considered getting one as well. I kind of like the stock. I don't love 90 degree bolt throws and that is one of my hesitations aside from I would rather have it in 6mm.

Solid point I didn’t realize that. I would definitely prefer a 60 degree throw.

I just spent nearly a week behind a Springfield Waypoint 2020 in 300 PRC at a long-range class. Several hundred rounds fired. My only complaint was that it shipped with a single AICS LA magazine, so I had to borrow one from a fellow instructor to get through the high round count stages. With ELD-M/X ammo it was printing 0.3 MOA 3 shot groups and 5 shot groups in the 0.5-0.75 MOA. We shot out to 1340 yards in winds gusting up to 35+ MPH. Trigger is great once adjusted down, stock is stiff and doesnt't flex when loading bipod. The other instructor was running a Christensen Arms in 300 PRC with a 26" barrel. We both used the same dope since we both shot the same ammo at same velocities (190 CX at 3005, 212 ELD-X at 2950, and 225 ELD-M at 2900). He used a brake, and I used my Banish BackCountry suppressor.
My other "complaint" if you want to call it that was my own fault - I showed up to a class with a rifle that wasn't broken in. That caused the FPS to jump around a good bit for the first 150 rounds or so then it settled down and kept getting faster, eventually settling to the numbers seen above. My fault not the rifles.
I am currently in the market for one in 6.5 PRC to have a matching set. It impressed me that much.

Love to hear it. I’ve watched several videos on them so far and have yet to see anyone not be impressed by them.

A year ago we did this same class here on our farm and a guy brought his in 6.5 Creedmor and his also impressed everyone.

At 2300 it’s kind of a joke when seekins can be had for 1800. At 1500 a 6.5cm seems like a deal for the sum of the parts that it boasts.
