Currently shopping for a new rifle in .308. Considering a multitude of options, but seriously considering either a Springfield 2020 or Weatherby Alpine CT. Anybody with experience with either or both what are your thoughts? Worth the extra cash over a Bergara or Browning x bolt?

I have a Waypoint (adjustable stock/CF barrel) that I like a whole lot. Comfortable, well balanced, accurate.

I am glad I spent the extra over a Bergara or Browning.

I've never shot the Weatherby, but I prefer the feel of the Springfield.

Thanks for the feedback. I am currently leaning towards the Waypoint. Just having a hard time making up my mind. They are both so similar. BSF barrels, Trigger Tech triggers, and 700 action. Really comes down to Peak 44 stock vs AG composite stock and aesthetics.

I had a waypoint in 308… ran 180 rounds through it and never got a group under 1”. Sent it back and they sent me a “digital target” image of a group they supposedly shot that was .68 so they would not do anything. I sold it. I now have a Weatherby alpine ct that I have about 380 rounds through and have never shot a group I was unhappy with. Mine is in 7prc, weighs less that the waypoint did but is a pleasure to shoot. I would not buy another waypoint but will snag another alpine ct when they release the 25 creed version.

What are your thoughts on the Peak 44 vs AG composites stocks? Any significant pros or cons comparing the two?

I believe the recoil impulse of the peak 44 is more inline and controlled. Even though I am shooting a heavier caliber, I am getting less “off target” impulse and less bounce even though it is a lighter rifle. Just my observations
