Springfield 2020 Boundary or Weatheryby 307 Alpine

What do you guys think? Which rifle would you buy? The Springfield 2020 Boundary or the Weatherby 307 Alpine? Carbon or steel barrel? Just looking for some opinions. I have the Boundary in 6.5 PRC and like it but I'm looking at getting another caliber to add to the collection. Thanks for any input.

From my understanding, they are essentially the same barreled action. Main difference is the peak 44 stock on the 307 Alpine's will feel more like the 2020 Waypoint vs the Boundary. Both use BSF carbon barrels, so I would expect them to shoot equally as well in that configuration. But Springfield holds a 3/4 MOA guarantee, so that held some weight when I bought my 7RM 2020 Waypoint and 6.5CM 2020 Redline.

Thanks for the info. The Alpine seems to be much lighter. Is that due to the stock? I didn't know they used the same barrels. I have been very pleased with my Boundary in 6.5 PRC. The only thing that holds be back about the Alpine is the barrel is threaded 1/2 X 28 unless I go with the carbon barrel. Is this a deal breaker?

Boundary all day in my experience with both. The Springfield's that I have shoot bug holes and feel like a custom build.

The weight difference is both the stock and action. The peak 44 stocks are featherlight and the 2020 action is a tank.. The 1/2-28 threading isn't really a big issue with adapters, but that means the steel barrel is thinner so you will need to let the barrel cool after 3-5 shots. Realistically, you shouldn't be pushing the BSF much farther between cooling. Neither is meant to be a high volume target barrel.

My only hesitation to grab another 2020 or try the 307 is that I want easier access to barrels. New barrels are custom order for these rifles, whereas I could buy a Tikka pre-fit almost anywhere.

I also have two Tikka T3x's that I rally like. I wish they made one in a 25 Creedmoor.
