Spring bear hunt novice needs help.

I am looking to go spring bear hunting...somewhere. I have shot Bears here in the Midwest, but not on a backpack trip. I have no idea where to start looking. I would like to be somewhere I can pack in for a week and get into Bears. Any help would be awesome! Thanks guys.

Have you looked at Montana Ore? I hunted in montana years ago. Saw lots of bears and we went three for four. Hunted mostly off forest service roads. The year we went there was alot of snow so it limited were we could go.Hoping to go back sometime soon. I know washington and oregon are draw only. Don't remember what idaho is. You hoping for any bear or looking for a color phase?

Baiting and hounds are legal in Idaho.

Grass, fresh green grass in the spring, bears love it like candy. Look for winter kills and grass.
