I've been very happy with the Zeiss Conquest binos that I've used for the last two/three years and just saw where Zeiss is introducing a new spotting scope. This scope is called the Conquest Gavia and is below the Victory Diascope series. I'm wondering if it's comparable to the Swaro ATS which is below the ATX series.

The angled Conquest Gavia is 30-60 x 85 mm, and weighs 60 oz. This is very comparable to the Swaro ATS 20-60 x 80, weighing 58 oz.

According to the Zeiss website it was released in mid-September.

Link is here: Conquest Gavia | ZEISS United States

Has anybody been able to look through one? I'm curious how it compares optically to Swaro's ATS 80?

Interesting. I have the Conquests HD 10x40 binos and bought a Swarovski 20-60x65 ATS that I used this season. I love both. With the retail of the new Zeiss spotter at $2k, I bet it will be $600 less expensive OTD than the Swaro.

My buddy used to have the Zeiss Diascope spotter and sold it to get a swaro. When we had his Zeiss next to my swaro there was a solid difference in picture quality.

I don't think the diascope is better than the ATS so doubt this new spotter is comparable.

Not sure if you can test a Kowa 883/884, but I found it best. Order one with a 30 day return. I went with it over the swaro HD (not ATX)
